Hi
Marble my male piggy has a claw that turns inwards at the front. It looks pointed and longer do thinking of clipping. The vet thought the nails looked fine . I've had them for two months now , how often do you cut them?
Thanks

Some nails can get very curvy and rather difficult to cut. I use small human nail clippers for my piggies' front nails; they seem to get best at the tricky bits. I have one older piggy whose nails seem to be determined to grow back into the toes, which is a bit of a nightmare to cut! The older a piggy gets, the twistier ans bendier the front nails tend to become.

How often to cut nails depends on the age. Nails seem to grow fastest between 1 and 3 years old; after that they slow down somewhat. The growth rate can also differ individually. if you struggle at first, you can have the nails cut at your vets.

I cut the one that was long and sharp yay! Their run is on concrete and I put hay down so it's warmer I think that's helping
