Hey everyone, first time poster here. I just tonight noticed this cloudy patch on my guinea pig Butters's eye. Does anyone have any experience with anything like this? He seems to be tearing a little more out of that eye, but everything is clear (no pus) as in the picture. He's been more tired lately, but I think that's normal given his age (6 1/2 going on 7). Other than that he has a healthy appetite and no recent changes in behavior. I'm extra concerned because we're leaving tomorrow for a 2 week camping trip that we've been planning for months. Our neighbors are taking care of him and our other pig, but if this is anything other than just cataracts, I wouldn't want to burden them with a vet visit.

Any cloudiness and when combined with excess watering then it does need to be checked by a vet as if could be an ulcerating haypoke. Anything eye related is considered urgent and requires a prompt vet checked (eyes cannot wait).

In that case, I'll take him in tomorrow, thanks for the reply!
