ok guys i took coco back to pets@home this morning as he has had diahria all last night and he kept coughing i called them this morning and they asked me to take him back as it wasnt fair for me to buy a sick piggy. Just thought id let you all know. xx

I hope you'll get her back! Poor piggie!

Their policy is to now give him the care and treatment he needs to get him well. Once the vet has given him the clearance he will be put into their adoption corner where it should clearly state that he hasn't been well and how he was treated.

still, I hope he/she goes back home with Sqeeker... Poor mite!:(

Well the lady who i gave him to said she will be taking him home to care for him and get the right treatment that he needs and then after that she may have him neutered to live with her sows i told her that was a good idea i dont mind as long as he has a good life thats all that matters.

Well i left a contact number and they said that they are going to call me and she gave me her personal number so that i can contact her, to see about his progress. she seemed genuine, and very caring about coco, although she said she might have to change his name. :)

Is this lady a qualified vet as Coco should not go anywhere else, except to their quarantine section for care or directly to a vets! it sounds to me as they have basically shipped the poor piggy to whomever would take her.

I would myself contact P@H and ask if she is in quaratine with them or with a vet as I would be extremely unhappy myself if some person just said oh don't worry I'll take her home with me and care for her! :^-

I know some Pets At Home stores aren't very good but to be honest it all comes down to the manager and how he sticks to their policies.
I have learnt a lot about Pets At Home just lately and I must say that Head Office really do care about standards and the lives of their small animals.
I have to give thumbs up to Pets at Home for being one of the most caring pet shops I know of.

I have just phoned them and he is in quarantine until they can get him to a vet, and they are going to give me a call once he has been.

How awful, poor little mite. I do agree that not all stores are bad and head office are great nine times out of ten. You never hear of the good with pets at home always the bad and people do jump the gun. I've been guilty of that in the past.

I do hope Coco gets well soon, in the meantime though you are back to square one Trudy. :(

We bought two Rats a few years back and one turned out to be pregnant so we ended up with 15. P@H after a bit of fuss lent me a cage and bought the baby rats off me to sell.

We bought our piggies from there, the Nottingham store seems to be one of the better ones.

Oh hes a Logan lookalike! Rexes are so laid back! Well Logan isn't there yet as he is hormonal! :(|) And Pudsey has Texal in him so he can be a Diva! But Kitty is so laid back its untrue!

Aww hope you can get him, he is adorable! x

Sylvester is gorgeous!

Best luck to Coco, though!

Yeah i will be keeping a close eye on what happens to him dont worry bout that lol i just dont understand why they would sell an ill piggy.

Hope he gets to see a vet asap, dioreaha is very serious. Will you have him back if you can?

Hi

They should take him to a vet straight away, I went into Pets at Home a few weeks ago, and the babies in the adoption section all had conjunctivies, I reported this to one of the girls and she took them out and I made sure that she contacted the vet straight away.
