Junior Guinea Pig
Hello, I believe my guinea pig has got conjunctivitis in her left eye. I’ll attach pictures but they aren’t very good.
Thanks to COVID, my income has changed. I work in hospitality and I’m getting literally no hours at work. Therefore I can’t currently afford a vet visit on top of their prescribed treatment and tests.
Is there anything I can buy to treat her eye at home that won’t cost as much as a vet visit? I know some skin issues can be treated with human shampoo so is there anything I could use for her eye?
If not I’ll just have to save or borrow money so I can get her to the vets.
Her eye has a lot of clear gunk coming from it. When she opens her eye it’s stringy like attached to the top eyelid and to the bottom. If that makes sense? It’s swollen and red. This morning it looked like she was bleeding but now I’m not sure if that was just gunk over redness. She’s squinting and sort of tilting and bobbing her head. She won’t let me touch it to wipe it either. Other than this she seems completely healthy. It’s just the one eye.
