Hello! I've recently moved my two girlies into a new cage in a new room and now one of them won't stop rumble-strutting! She does it to her sister a lot but then they'll go back to cuddling and playing, sometimes she just does it around the cage. They've been in their new cage about a week now and she has been doing this for about 4 or 5 days. I don't know if it's just bad PMS or if she's upset with something but like I said, the pair haven't fallen out at all.
Any ideas on how I can help her out? I've been sat downstairs all day and she's hardly stopped strutting and vocalising. I'm hoping it's not the start of a big fall out and is actually just her protesting her new environment!

Just sit it out; a new territory requires a re-establishment of the existing group hierarchy.

My guinea pigs do the same! How big is the cage? I am building a new cage soon because I'm pretty sure my guinea pigs do it because the cage is pretty small!

Any change in guinea pig’s home and surroundings can cause dominance issues. It sounds as though the rumbler is simply reasserting her dominance. It should settle down again.

I forgot to mention that the strange thing is she's always been the least dominant! Maybe she's taking this move as an opportunity to become top pig!

The move can have well given her an opportunity to renegotiate her standing, especially if it is coupled with a season of hers.
