I bought some corn at the farmers market this morning for me and the pigs. It still has some of the outer leaves on- can they eat them as well?

:)

Corn husks (green leaves) and silks (the stringy bits) that are attached to the corn are perfectly fine to feed. Mine *love* the silks but I haven't found them in years.

Mine love this too! I've been trying to grow it for a couple of years because I love fresh sweetcorn - not been very sucessful yet but this year the potential crop is looking a bit better. There's always been something for the pigs out of it but the last couple of times I tried I planted it out too late to get good cobs.

My girls really liked the corn and leaves, so was definitely worth the trip to the market. I even got to eat some as well (not the leaves though). :(|)

Dindy loves stripping the 'silks' of corn cobs. She even holds the cob steady with one foot on it whilst stipping it.

They're in Morrisons!! 40p! if they're in Wales then they must be being sold in England!

This would have to be one of Onyx's fav foods drool
They used to love the corn too but now not on their diet :x
The silks are like fine little bits of spaghetti, they get slurped up real fast :(|) The leaves are really good for their toofies too :)

Mine absolutely adore these, they strip them so quickly.
