As my piggie playhouse is now complete I'm thinking about getting another piggie. Would it be possible to introduce another neutered boar to my herd ( 2 neutered boars and 6 sows) or would they fight?

It's an impossible question to ask unfortunately. I don't have the experience as I've only ever had boars but I've read numerous posts about having numerous boars with girls isn't a good idea.

But, you never know. You have to think about what you'll do if it doesn't work. I've had boar trios quite a few times. I always make sure I can deal with the event of it not working.

Would you rehome the boar if it didn't work? Would you keep him and pair him with another pig?

Hi! Please don't keep two boars with any number of sows - it will most likely not work and is simply not worth the risk of disrupting your stable group with fighting boars; it is extremely stressful for the whole group.
Please be aware that sows choose the boar they want to live with and can be very protective of them; a newcomer on the scene is very destabilising, especially as any boars losing out cannot just move away in a traditional cage setting and don't have the space to form their own subgroups to hang out together.
Adding More Guinea Pigs Or Merging Pairs – What Works And What Not?

The only successful herds I know of with more than one boar basically have a set-up that ranges from half a room to a full room to a fully enclosed garden (including protection against birs of prey) with a dedicated outbuilding for the winter and any frail piggies.

I have managed 2 boars and 3 sows. The boars and 1 sow were from a shop litter. The boars have grown up used to sow pheremones are are EXTREMELY laid back. They were VERY well bonded and neutered before I introduced them to the girls. I have a Plan B incase they ever fight. It is not recommended to put more than 1 boar in with sows. I only did it cos I knew my guinea pigs really well and hoped for the best and by some miracle it worked! I wouldn't introduce a strange boar to your herd cos you don't know what he'll be like.
