I've been petting my six month old boy today and noticed his skin is not as it should be.

I've had boys with fungal before and thought it may be this, but as his skin is so dark I'm struggling to see what it might be. We're visiting the vet, but until then, does anyone have any ideas what it may be and how I can help my boy in the interim?

I have another boy who lives with him. Should I separate until I find out if it's contagious?

I’m glad you’ve got a vet appointment.

There is nothing you can do in the meantime.
If you attempt use any home treatments (which we will never recommend) then all you will do is wipe the scene and hide any identifying markers a vet needs to make a diagnosis.

Please do not separate them. We never recommend any medical separations as they can break bonds.
There is also no benefit in separating them as if it is anything contagious then both piggies are already exposed anyway. You would just need to treat both piggies.

You will need to take them to the vet together in any event so the vet will be able to tell you the course of action for the companion once diagnosis has been made

I hope he is ok
