courgette?

is courgette safe for guineas? i dont think so but thought i'd ask

my neighbour gave me a massive bagful from their allotment

apart from ratatouille what else can i do with it?

Courgette is safe actually, no problem. Not many piggies like the taste, but some do.

Myself, I like courgette mixed in with vegetable pasta bakes, and on pizza.

Guinea pigs can eat courgette (not the stem, obviously), but many do not like it.

However, you can make carrot cake with courgettes instead. If you add 1 tsp of cinnamon or ground hazelnuts, that gives it more oompf. You can freeze the cake before you add buttercream etc.

If you've got big courgettes, you can fill them like you would aubergines.

Yeah I gave my piggies some before and they didn't like it, I don't blame them, neither do I.

But if you try them with a little bit everyday for a few days then they might get a taste for it!
