Just wondered if I should be covering them up in summer? (it's around 17degrees here now) I've got a thin material I was given with the hutch to cove them up at night. It's nt waterproof very good but I think it blocks the wind/sun more than rain. Should I be using it at night when it's warm? I've used to tonight and just got in bed thinking how warm it s still then had a thought about the pigs?

Sorry can't advise as ours live indoors. But bumping this up for you

Ours just have waterproof covers over the hutches if its raining and at night. In winter they will have something thicker.

mine have the waterproof hutch huggers all year round to protect from wind and rain. if its warm and dry i dont fasten them down. in winter they have the hutch snuggle (looks like tin foil) and the heat pads and if it gets very cold we move the hutches into the art studio.

I forgot about that. Mine have silver loft insulation (essentially the same material as the hutch snuggle). They have it exposed during the summer as it is waterproof and directs sun away from the hutch without the waterproof cover. During the winter, the waterproof cover goes over the top so the silver loft insulation keeps in the warmth :)

mine have a waterproof clear plastic sheet for the front, the top is maintained with felt and the back has a protective tarp (as I couldnt face removing it from the winter, the spiders :o ).

They come in for the winter
