Hi all!
I just got my first dose of Covid vx and I’m feeling a bit sick. I have two guinea pigs, and I was just wondering if it would be best for me to stay away from them until my symptoms subside? I do not want them getting sick or anything. Can humans even transmit to gps?

I don’t think you can transmit to them. There is a thread/guide somewhere on here but I can’t recall exactly. Just practice good hygiene before and after, as before b

There‘s no need for you to stay away from your piggies because of the side effects you‘re experiencing from the vaccine. What you‘re currently feeling is just your immune system responding to the jab and that isn’t transmissible. Not even to humans :) As @Siikibam said, just follow your usual good hygiene practice before and after handling your piggies. I hope you‘re feeling better soon!

The side effects are not a big but simply your body building an immune response. The vaccine is not a live vaccine and does not contain any of the disease therefore there is nothing for you to pass on. However if you are feeling unwell I would focus on making sure they are fed and perhaps wait until it passes before handling them as I very suddenly went light headed with an urgent desire to sleep after mine but it was a very short term side effect
