craigs face please help

iv held craig properly today and iv noticed on his face just to the side of his nose and under his eye he has a little bald patch of fur. when you feel it it feels a bit ruff so i moved the fur to have a look and the skin underneath looked a bit flaky. I'm wondering whether its a wound he is recovering from or can anyone else advise me what it is? i was a bit worried.

he didnt seem bothered about me touching it or anything. i cant believe i didnt notice it when i bought him i love craig as well hes so cute.

Photos would definitely help someone (with more experience than me!) to advise you better.

It might also help if you post this thread in the Health & Illness section, as there are lots of very experienced and knowledgeable people who focus particularly on medical aspects of guinea pig care and seem to spend most of their time there.

Lily has a little bald patch under her eye too, it doesn't sound too serious, sometimes piggies get dry itchy skin just like us, there is probably something you can do, as long as theres no irritation or blood or crusty stuff i wouldn't worry, I always check Lilys and shes fine.

I'm not an expert, but what you describe also sounds like a fungal skin infection. I would try to take a photo and post it in 'care discussion' as the thread will be picked up quite quickly there by one of the piggy experts. Gorgeous Guineas does some really good products for skin conditions.

thanks guys ill post it in the health section. iv just had a look through now but cant find anything similar. theres no irritation or blood or anything, just a little bald patch about the size of a baked bean and looks a little bit flaky. fur covers it a little because he is quite furry but its noticable.
