I would really like to get a couple of these and I told mum about them and she said like absolutely not as when Orella and Rose poo and wee in them of course they need washing and she has banned me from using the washing machine if I sneak them in.

How do you girls wash them? I was considering hand-washing them and hanging them on the line? I mean can you guys tell me what you do so I have some alternatives!

Muchly appreciated x

ps. also where is a good place to buy them? websites please!

I highly recommend getting some cosies from Pollie who is "ThreeLittlePigs" on this forum, she has a thread on here somewhere with a link to her website so you can see what she sells and in what colours. I've just got some from her and my piggies love them (My thread i posted today has pictures showing my piggies in them)

I don't know about washing them as i'll be putting the piggies stuff in a wash bag to put in the washing machines (Stops the bits clogging up the machine) but i'm sure hand wsahing won't be a problem?!

YES! Pollie makes them and all proceeds go to Rescue! They are excellent quality and my pigs love them username on here threelittlepigs. I shall find her website for you now :).

I give them a good shake outside before popping them in the washing machine, I shall be investing in a washing bag soon rolleyes.

fantastic thank you! whats a washbag? is it like a drawstring thingy? I might see if mum agrees to that ;) but to avoid arguments I will use a washbag and if it goes to rescue then I am definitely up for that, I WANT TARTAN! haha

I have some of Pollie's cozies and tunnels- great quality. Same as Joanne, I shake them outside. You can brush or hoover off and stubborn hay/ poops. hair befire washing. Mine go in the machine. You can use a washbag with a drawstring/ zip or a pillow case (tie it tight with a hairband) or one of those net bags you use for tights.
You could hand wash them ok I would think but definitley better in a machine. If it's just the odd cozy, perhaps your mum would be ok if you handwashed/ rinsed them and then put them through the washing machine for a good clean. They spin out to almost dry and only take about an hour on the airer to finish off. :)

you might want them to share but they might have other ideas? do they currently share any houses that you have got? Mine pointblank does not matter how big the house/cosy/bed all refuse to share! rolleyes

I just chuck them in the washing machine but my piggies don't tend to poop in them and it is very rare they wee in them! but i always wash our towels on a hotwash after doing the three loads of the piggies stuff weekly!

well they currently just snuggled together in a big thing of hay but when I have put in the playsticks stuffed with hay Orella usually gets chucked out :( perhaps i should get some 2 little ones instead

hmmmmmmmm well I just think that I will buy them and then neither of them will probably use them...my pigs never use anything I have bought them...bar the drain pipe....they majorly love that.

I see my army of dedicated customers are out in force this afternoon!

If you wanted to see whether they would actually use fleecey beds, I would recommend that you start with a standard cozy and tunnel set. At £11, including postage it is good value for money and will give you a lot of flexibility. My pigs don't snuggle together all that much, but I did catch two of them in an xl cozy the other day, so you never know!

I think what I might do before buying these snazzy ones and potentially wasting money is to get some fleece and like make a little pocket and see whether Orella and Rose share it, it wont cost alot and it will gauge whether they share or not.

My pigs love the tunnels...

Kinda like that,

This is the one I am going to get as I want good quality, so my mum's washing machine doesn't break :)).

I've got a couple of these now as I'm scared to death of breaking the washing machine :{ They are brilliant! I brush everything off that I can then wash in these, so it doesn't matter so much if random strands of hay are still attached.

I can understand why you family might not want you using the washing machine, but if you have something like this from the get go, it wont be because of piggy hay/hair/whatever if the washer does break!

You could hand wash but I would think it would take a lot of scrubbing.

I have just bought some of these http://shop.ebay.co.uk/cosy_cavies/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340 (I think I'm going to get some more) and have a couple of these http://pimpmypiggy.homestead.com/crashpads.html which the piggies love but I couldn't afford to buy them all one each :( One day {:|

You could always buy one and if they don't use it, I'm sure someone on the forum would buy it off of you :)

If you're feeling brave, you could have a go at making a cuddle cup yourself.

I've made some with some cheap fleece I had, and wadding (99p a metre from Dunelm Mill- needs 2-3 layers). Mine are hand sewn but seem to be standing up to use ok.
