I've noticed this behaviour and haven't been able to find anyone describing the same thing. One of my pigs loves cuddles and the other one (Shelley) not so much, so when I take the first pig out Shelley will do very fast laps of the cage and occasionally squeak. They are about 4 and a half years old. Does anyone else notice anything like this? I can't tell if she misses her cage mate or if she thinks she's being left out of a snack session. I don't think it's popcorning but I'm not sure.

I don’t know I would imagine it is the first one but that’s just a guess

I have something similar. When I take 6 year old boar Zebedee out of the cage for his medicines and hand- feeding, his 2 year old cage-mate Squeaks often runs round and round the cage squeaking. I think he's just doing zoomies while there's space in the cage to do it without another pig getting in the way, but I could be wrong. He often also jumps up on the shelf of the cage and watches us, maybe he is just watching or maybe he's wanting veggies.

If we take chickpea out for lap time Widget will run around the cage also and go in every tunnel or house., this stops when we put Chickpea back so I assume Widget is looking for her friend, they have a really close bond

Hi we have 3 piggies all girls. Complete opposite to your piggies. Heidi the boss will when we take one of her mates out for whateva reason. will watch from the nearest viewing point nose pressed against the c and c paws up and will follow until the piggie mate is returned and once checked over is happy.
It melts yer heart :luv: to see such a powerful action from the boss to her friends.

My Kiko does the same thing when Peanut is taken out. I think it's because when Kiko bumps into Peanut, Peanut gets annoyed and nips Kiko. So maybe Kiko is happy that she can run and not bump into Peanut.

Silk always squeaks a lot when we take Clover out. I always assumed she didn't like being left on her own but I don't know.
