Cut foot help please

I feel so awful i was trimming sparkles bottom fur and she kicked back and i caught her foot. When i 1st did it there was quite a bit of blood i cleaned her up and its only a tiny cut i pressed it and managed to stop the bleeding now not sure what is best for it tho. Being on her foot i don't want her to get a infection.
Poor thing didn't make any fuss at all i feel so so bad.

Oh please do not feed bad. This was not your fault and it just happens. I would keep an eye on it. If she is bedded on shavings then you may want to use something else as they could get into the cut and irritate it.

I've cleaned the cage out so its really clean she is normally on newspaper with shavings and hay. I have some vet bed in the sleeping area so should i put that out across the whole cage?

Should i put anything on the cut like cream or just clean in with water?

I would just leave it to heal. I would say vetbed is ideal as it is nice and soft for her.

If your cleaning it use salt water (1/2 teaspoon to 1/2 pint water approx.) and just keep an eye on it, I have tended to a lot of cuts in my time and am always surprised at how well the body heals itself. Bad things to look out for are swelling and redness round the cut. Shavings arent the best thing to have her on but if you do keep her on them, keep them as clean as possible and make sure they arent sticking to the cut.
