I got a new little pig a few days ago, not the one I was planning to get but that's another story. It's been a bit hectic. George has been very dominant, constant mounting. I took Turnip, the new young boy, out to give him a break and I noticed spots of blood on my skirt. He has a little nick low down on his belly. It's not big but I haven't dealt with this before. I've seperated them but what should I do with Turnip's cut? Just wipe it and leave him?

Keep it clean and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't become infected. My boars often have little cuts like this from disagreements and they soon heal up, as long as they aren't very big.

Just make sure it doesn't become infected. It was probably a good idea u separated them since a little blood was shed. Hopefully the will bond together. U have done a good job bonding George with the other pigs so hopefully you can with little turnip too x good luck x

You can disinfect the cut with hibiscrub from the pharmacy or homemade saline solution. Mix one teaspoon of salt into 1 pint pint of boiled, cooled water. Check daily in case there is an infection or abscess.

It sounds like an accidental cut from a toenail when the little one hasn't got out of the way quickly enough, but make sure that it is not a deep bite.
