Demineralized water?

Hi everyone!
Eddie is on a low calcium diet, and I knew that filtering your water could help, but most water filters are very expensive in Canada. I found a jug of demineralized water at the grocery store and read that it supposedly has little to no calcium content. Is this true? does anyone have experience with it? Is it even ok to give him?
