Can I treat produce (kale) being grown to feed my pigs with food grade DE? If not, what are safe options to rid my poor plants of pests?

What pests are your plants suffering with?
Are they being grown in the open or in a green house?

I personally wouldn't use food grade DE to treat pests, but it does depend a bit on what the actual pests are.

It's indoors in my kitchen and out of nowhere there are a bunch of caterpillars. I'm only growing it to feed the pigs so if I can't save it for them, there really is no point lol.
