If I offered my dog a BIG piece of meat, no matter if he were full, he'd gladly eat it. Would guineas eat veggies all day long if they were left to have as much as they wanted? (They wouldn't be, I'm just interested)

I think mine would if I kept putting fresh grass or dandelions in their run. Generally they have a feeding frenzy when I first put the food in then they just keep alternating between resting & eating.

I think some would, some wouldn't, I know mine have preferences and will leave things they don't like so much when they are full. Pigs do get overweight though so obviously can and will overeat. I think their natural cycle would be one of eat/sleep but they would be always eating appropriate foods and be generally more active so wouldn't be prone to weight gain.

My guess is that some would and some wouldn't keep eating... a bit like people I suppose. I have two unrelated but bonded boars and one of them, the vet said, is "obese"... but the other one is quite slim. Actually, the vet didn't weigh them or say how much they should weigh... he just said their tummies shouldn't be on the floor and bulging at the sides! It would be quite hard to restrict the food intake of the greedy one without the other one missing out.
