I have 2 guinea pigs, I have noticed today on the pig I got on monday that there are what I think are mites on her fur(lots of little white dots). My other pig(Ive had for a few months now) is white so i cant tell if he has mites or not. I have also noticed that recently they have been very lazy and sleep alot. I have also started to notice scratching and also losses in weight.

are all these features of mites and can i treat it myself without going to see a vet with something like "Spot-On"?

Thanks

You need a vet to see your pigs.

Being lethargic, weightloss and skin problems, any one of these would be reason enough for a vet check - all three mean they really need to see a vet and soon.
