One of our girls, Chloe, had an operation about a week ago. She's started to act more like her old self over the past couple of days, and when we have her up for lap time she'll happily relax, stretch herself out and go to sleep (nothing unusual about that!)

She does the odd ear twitch and nose wriggle, and then I think she starts sleep talking. Starting off with a few contented noises, but then she does a 'brrr!' (the room was completely quiet on the two occasions, so I don't think any sudden noises caused it), and then she starts twitching and making anxious squeaks. Not long after this she sits upright as if waking suddenly.

She never exhibited this behaviour before the op, so we wondered if she was reliving her experience while she was sleeping? She's been a little miserable this week, poor thing. And I'm very overprotective so I get very worried when I see any unusual behaviour from her!
I was curious to hear if anyone has any thoughts or has come across this before?

I'm not sure if they have nightmares, but it could still be related to the surgery- perhaps stitches are pulling or something else feels wrong or uncomfortable, which can lead to the 'brrrrr' noise coming out. What surgery did she have? One of my pigs had an abscess removal last summer and I could tell the her stitches were pulling occasionally... she would stretch and then look behind her like something had hurt, and she would try to pull at them (luckily they were positioned far enough back that she couldn't sink her teeth into them.)
