I decided today was the day to have a cage re-vamp, so off I trotted to the shops purchased various stuff to make hay loft and scoured the Norwich pet shops for a pair of Pigloos, in just the right colour, you know how it is can't have Pigloos clashing with the fleece can we :))!

Wingus & Stewie have currently have a large rabbit size igloo and a small green house type thingy, well Wingus hogs the rabbit igloo (he and Dingus RIP used to share it) and Stewie has taken to the small house. Stewie is growing too big for the house and Wingus has room for a dozen or so in his so I'm down-sizing Wingus and up-sizing Stewie and we'll have matching Pig-loos. Good in theory!

Tonight is the night, swore and cursed at the Corotherm (wouldn't recommend it) and made the hayloft, then replaced the old with the shiney new Pigloos.:) Now Wingus, a portly chap, goes straight into explore the first Pigloo and on trying to exit gets his generously proportioned backside stuck in the Pigloo and drags it around the cage tortoise styley:{ and rather than be traumatised by this he seems to like this new game and it currently dashing in and out of the Pigloos and dragging them as far as his bum will allow! :{mallethead Doh! Meanwhile Stewie is munching on the carrots in total disgust

Can anyone recommend a sedative for fat mad piggies doing tortoise impressions!

Have a good weekend all

No suggestions, though I had to comment to say me and steven have had a good giggle at Wingus's antics :))

Next time he attempts it you'll have to record it!

:)):)) I can just imagine him tearing round the cage with the house on his bottom :)):))

Lol I'd love to see a guinea pig/tortoise!
My two love sharing the log tunnel and will huddle up together but as soon it comes to igloo's there's no sharing.

Home bargains had some chunky plastic stools in at 2.99 which would make great houses, because they are open both ends as well they can get away from each other if needed.

I use a cheap (99p) washing up bowl. Makes a huge pigloo and you can cut out whatever size door you want - just remember to smooth edges off ;)
You can just see it in my pic

Photographic proof Wingus IS really a Tortoise

I know this may be a silly question but ---- where can you get pigloos ?! Nowhere seems to do them !

I've just remembered I already have a pigloo ... just haven't used it for months! Wow I'm going mad :S :S

Given the choice of a bigger pigloo or the smaller one Wingus will opt for the smaller every time, it seems he actually prefers the "does my bum look big in this look"

I saw huge pigloos (they're most oblong shaped than round) in my local Countrywide store, but they were massively over-priced.

Have you looked online? The postage might be higher cos they'll have to be couriered but it might be worth it to find what you want.

As other people have suggested, get a couple of step-stools. I have a large one and two small ones from Wilkinsons and they're my piggies favourite retreats!

I was going to reply and tell you that i have been there AND bought the tshirt big style with my previous beloved Pepper Standing rip baby boy miss you still.....and then i saw your piccy.....and it looks EXACTLY like my Pepper Standing....omg even the pigloo is the same colour.....i am so jealous....and happy at the same because you have brought back fab memories for me.

I miss my Pepster so thanks x

You have a good weekend too....and everyone else.....x

Bless him, that's priceless.

Pets at home is a good bet, I had to upsize mine because my boys are getting rather...Chubby...

They aren't too big, so they don't take up masses of space, side by side they take about about 1x2 C&C grids. But the door ways are big enough to stop those little tortoise impressions. :))

They are a little pricey but well worth it. So easy to clean.

My piggies love the plastic stools ,and the boys often sit on top of them, the girls are not so adventurous!

Hi I'm not sure if it helps you or not but in wilkos this morning I saw kitten/ cat igloos at around £8, they're huge and white.
