Just wondering if your guineas get on with any of your other pets?
Our Jack gets on really well with Molly our beagle x (110% supervised at all times) molly likes to get infront of the fire to sleep and Jack can be seen going and sitting facing her, molly just opens her eye then falls back asleep. Or if Jacks out in his run she'll always go and seem to check onhim before doing her business, I will try for some pictures as its really a sweet sight :)

But I do stress they do not ever ever get left unattended and we sit very close with full attention just incase anything ever happened :)

My guinea pigs and cats get on fine - they would probably never cuddle etc like I've seen pictures of other people's animals do - but they get on well enough that they can all have free run of the flat at the same time. I never leave them unattended though - the guinea pig's cage is shut whenever I'm out.

It is funny watching Daisy - she loves to run up to the cats and then runs away really quickly like she's wanting to be chased. She has me in stitches.

one of our lurcher dogs Murphy, is the same with Lenny my boar. they sniff nose, to nose through the cage bars and he is slowly being allowed closer to him when he is out of the cage ... fully supervised of course.

My other piggie, Piglet is interested in the dogs but she is quite scittish by nature so she and the dogs usually make each other jump :)) No love affairs going on there!

My other lurcher dog Lucy, is polite and restrained but deffinately interested in a food kind of way so again, no love affairs going on there either!

My old whippet x Cassie sometimes jumps into the pens with the pigs when I've got my back turned - I used to be worried until I realised that she was only interested in eating their carrots & poops! She's so good at hoovering the poops up that I let her in the room after they've had floor time - et voila, clean floor! The guinea pigs on the other hand couldn't care less about the dog & just want her to leave their food alone! :))

I had piggies as a teenager and they used to be free range in the garden at weekends and evenings. Our red setter was never interested in them (other than when there were babies), but was also very, very keen on their poops! I think she probably made the garden very safe from cat harrassment. I was far more mellow as a kid about free ranging piggies than I could be now!

Twinkle gets on with Tika who is a rabbit but they are never allowed to free range together.

Twinkle also gets on with Domino who is the school bunny as I am looking after her right now over Christmas. I think Twinks is a I love anyone but guinea pigs kinda piggy! lol

I only have a hamster and a couple of goldfish... cant see them getting on too well :)) ;)

But My mum has 4 piggies and 2 cats and they dont seem bothered by each other, the cats arent allowed to touch or play with the pigs obv and they are in enclosed cages, The cats sometimes sit and watch them from the sofa but thats about it

I thought I was the only one with poop hoovering dogs :))

Harley the guinea pig gets on with are cats they had a touching moment whenthey touched noses :rose obviously i do not leave him with them on his own

No, mine prefer the company of each other and run at the sight of the dogs. If they are temporarily put in the tortoise enclosuer they aren't afraid of the torties and steal their food, but I would say that their only true relationship is with each other.

My 8 rabbits all love the pigs. Babe doesn't go near the rabbits unless Eric's with her (she's a scaredy-pig). Eric's not bothered by them at all and frequently steals their carrots. Luckily, the rabbits are so intrigued by him they don't mind too much!

my piggies love my sisters dog, they lick her nose when she comes darting in the room to see them! She loves the piggies just as much too!

I never let my dogs near my piggies, so they dont really get in contact with any of the other animals in the household!

well when there was babies my cat wonted to catch them but now thier bigger he not botherd about them and the guinea pigs anit bothed about him

but if any other cat looks at them he dose chase them away one he can look at them no other cats

but when he had the 2 rabbits my dad used to let them run around the grandan and the rabbits used to chase the cat

i've only got five piggies! If we ever decide to have more pets, i suspect they'll be piggies too! x

:) I have got five guinea pig poo hoovers (dogs). My Dobe especially loves it, he will even stick his head in the hutch to get at the poo the guineas don't take any notice of any of the dogs.:)).

i had the camera out today :)

Is that a really tiny dog, or gigantic guinea pigs? So cute... I wish I could get my cat to be that good... or maybe get the other animals to be that good, come to think of it, since Sunny's never attacked any other animal, but she's been terrorized by a hamster and smacked around by a guinea pig. :(|)

Molly is a over weight Beagle X .. on holiday with us so doesn't get half the treats she does when shes at home with my partners parents, she seems to think her throats been cut when she stays with us :))

Aaaargh! Accidentally deleted long post...

I had a piggie called pickwick who was in lurve with my parents' dog, Emie. She'd follow her everywhere, share her cushion, climb on her back, eat her hair and Emie would just kindly walk away and sit a bit further away. Pickwick tried to climb up the stairs once where she'd seen the dog follow my mum, managed one step but could not work out how to go back down. Alerted by strange squeaks, my mum rescued her and we had a good laugh about the adventure! :(|):(|)

More seriously though, Pickwick was one mischievous girlie... TWICE my mum found Emie frenetically wagging in the hedge only to discover with horror that the run was empty! and the dog was with the Guinea in the hedge! yes, yes, a run-away piggy... After a second unsuccesful attempt at freedom, a pressure cooker was added to the top of the run to avoid any more trouble.:)):))

Those two were friends and missed eachother when separated... If my prarents took the dog away at the weekend, Pickwick would spend the entire time on the dog's cushion in the kitchen in a mood... :(

that is the SWEETEST story. bless them xxxxxx

Thanks very much... people think I'm mad when I talk about it but it's true. That piggy was soooooooooooooooooooooo cheeky it drove my mum to redecorate the kitchen twice because she had found a way to lift and pull the wall paper (and eat it). :)):))

Back on topic, we were never concerned about the safety of Pickwick at whe was top... erm ... dog in that relationship. She would even go and steal food from the dog's bowl as she was eating it! And what would Emie do, she'd lift a front paw to make sure Pickwick didn't get hurt!;););) Awww...

A cross-breed friendship is rare but possible!x>>
