Does anyone elses piggy like oats?

I started feeding my boys oats soaked in warm water last year when Pippin was ill and needed to gain weight and they loved it. Since PIp died I haven't given it again but came through from the kitchen to find Merry, who should have been quietly sitting on the sofa with his other Mummy, munching into my bowl of oats!

He is a little menace and is keen to share my food including rice, bread and cereal. (my cereal is all museli type, un sweetened with the odd raisin in it kind of thing) I never have milk or butter as I eat dairy free and he never eats too much of it...

Does anyone else find this?

He seems to think it's tastier off my plate than in his bowl and frequently marches across my lap, onto my plate and starts munching my sandwiches/dinner/breakfast - leaves the smoked salmon obviously!

I do feel a bit fed up with piggy footprints on my dinner all the time!
 
mine love bread soaked inlow fat milk! I only ever give them it like once a year though!
 
They are strange things aren't they...

Merry has completely changed since his brother died, and he is now the most spoilt guinea pig ever. I think he was in his cage last night for the sum total of an hour between me coming in from work and bedtime!
 
my guinea pigs tried to get share of my coco pops last night! they are always keen to eat everything i have aswell.
 
Three out of my four piggies like them. Nibbler doesn't like them, just typical, as he was the one that needed to put weight on! He does like Weetabix though.
 
Yup mine love them too! I didn't know they liked/were allowed to eat oats until i joined on here and saw audiohearts beautiful boys eating them :))
 
What oats do you guys use ? Sorry if I sound a bit mallethead but have never tried my gang on anything like that so would be curious ?/
 
The bunnies have a bowl of oats most days but I've never thought to try them on my piggies. I need to bulk Smudge up as he's lost some weight so I'll see what he thinks to them!
 
Just normal porridge oats, like what you would have for breakfast! (Dry, no milk) :))
 
My piggies love oats. They like porridge oats and also rolled oats. My dental piggies love porridge. I mix the porridge oats with boiling water and cool. This goes down really well when they are struggling to eat for themselves.
 
My piggy Nibbles (RIP) absolutely loved oats! I gave them to her to help gain back some weight she had lost, and they helped! :)
 
I feed mine with Organic Rolled Oats, and they loves it. But it's fattening if fed too much so do limit it :)
 
Will they eat the oats on their own or do they have to be done in water? We've got loads of oats that don't get eaten here didn't realise healthy pigs could eat them! X

Mine have them dry mixed in with pellets or on top of a pile of readigrass :)
 
Gerr'in! Going to go sprinkle some round and see what happens! Though I can well imagine what will happen, nobody will move and I'll just get four suspicious/snooty looks until I leave! X
 
My girls love them!
Onyx knows that they get them when i get home from work, she stands with tootsies on bowl if they aren't delivered! i get the "LOOK" rolleyes:))
