use a hairdryer to try and dry the piggies off once they have had a bath? obviously on the very lowest setting, but the reason i ask if, most of my piggies have lice or mites once again and i am going to have to bath all 13 of them. I want to try and do them over the weekend as other half is away till Sunday and i dont have a lot of towels to fully dry them - they are all in doors gps - would i be ok to use the hairdryer on them, on the lowest setting? thanks. natasha

I do on 2 of them as they will sit there & be ok but 1 of my girls hates it & I don't dry her as it is too stressful for her. I only do it on a low heat setting & keep moving the dryer so it does not burn them.

yes i always havem but use low heat and speed, and keep it moving constantly. they have so much fur they'd be drying themselves off for 2 days and dont want them to catch a chill!

I always use a hair-dryer, if you have help with that many piggies you can get a good production line going! :)

I use the low heat setting and low speed, and put my hands over them to ruffle their fur at same time so I know instantly if too hot. They don't like it around their face and ears though. Then pick their front up to do their tummies.

Some of mine seem to enjoy it!

I get the worst off gently with a towel, then a hairdryer, but they usually try and run away, so I don't want to stress them out too much. If we are doing the outside pigs, we always let them run in a pen inside to dry out properly before getting back outside, especially in the winter, even if it means keeping them in overnight.

I shall be doing the piggies indoors and unfortunately it will be only me washing them and drying them, so its going to be a good few hours! thanks for year replies xx

Mine (indoors) don't like it, so I make sure that there are no drafts while they're drying off.

i never use a hairdryer
i only bathe them on very very warm days, and make sure they're totally toweled dry before they go back in their cage
there's nothing like sitting in the garden on a lovely day giving the pigs a bath =]

Yes, I always use a hairdryer.

Pets At Home sells a hairdryer for dogs. It has a 4m long cable which is useful, it is fairly quiet running and has 3 speeds. Best of all it has a stand to sit in which leaves two hands free for handling piggy. I think I paid something like 19.99 GBP for mine.
