hi ! haven’t posted on here in ages !
had my piggies for about 2 months now, one of my piggies is really friendly and lets me stroke his nose and sometimes even jumps on my lap . the other piggie i think doesn’t like me .. he’s always been timid and recently has let me stroke his nose (he walks up to my finger first, i don’t force him) before then nipping and going to bite and teeth chattering at me . i’m confused since he willingly lets me stroke him then getting angry ..
does he not like me or should i give him time ?

Give him time is the simple thing here.. What you are witnessing is fear. It took us two years to tame Vimto so she wouldn't bite me. She was just a very scared piggy.

Try hand feeding them in the cage

ok thank you ! i do hand feed them every day and have every day since i got them and he’s fine when doing that, probably because he’s getting food lol !

Don’t feel too upset, it shows that he’s becoming more comfortable around you to show you his displeasure. Believe it or not that’s a good thing! It certainly doesn’t mean he doesn’t like you :) As sport billy said time is all you can give, with a little dash of patience. Two of my pigs teeth chatter at me when I’m feeding their veg because I’m clearly not doing it fast enough! :))

Time and patience - not the easiest thing for you but it is the only way.
Talk here - we understand the anxiety and concerns of piggy slavery

yeah it happens, they're prey animals and our love is basically the opposite of their instinct and nature. Guinea pigs aren't as cuddly as the media shows and they're basically all over social media becuz it's the rare human piggies who love their human attention compared to pig piggies who prefer each other and keep distance from anything else. Also pay attention to how you pet him, and learn his fav spots to pet and he'll appreciate it.

Btw, I've had my 2 sows for over 9 months and they still barely let me touch their nose, and if I try to pick them up they teeth chatter and run away for their lives. Having my hand smelling like food when I pet them helps them getting calmer tho.
