My Cousin in Mexico has a Guinea Pig Herd in a Large C&C Cage which is like 5x9 grids. She had 4 sows and 2 boars I don't have pictures as she has not much technology over their and she writes me letters. Anyway the Ages are

Boars
Taco - 2 Years Old
Baby Taco - 5 months old

Notes - Baby Taco was born into the Group and Both Boars are neutered

Sows
Cinnamon - 4 years old
Oreo - 1.5 years old
Baby Blackberry and Baby Raspberry - 5 months old

Anyway It all started off when she got a Guinea Pig from a Man selling them. Taco was meant to be a Sow but when she took him home he got Oreo pregnant whom was 1 at the time. Luckily she survived and Taco was neutered immediately. Anyway she told me that she had this 5x9 Cage which was 3 floors tall. Anyway Taco started being very aggressive with the sows and even started bullying Baby Taco it started getting worse when he got Boar Glue all over Baby Taco who would squeak a squeak of pain when he was being humped.

Anyway today I received a letter saying Baby Taco and Cinnamon had died. My Cousin and her family went to the Beach at Acapulco and left a 4 Web Cams they had borrowed to see the Guinea Pigs from the family phone. Anyway that evening something bad happened. Cinnamon had been the dominant one till she backed down as she aged. Taco started hurting Baby Taco at about midnight and no one could stop it. Anyway suddenly Cinnamon started humping Taco and Taco then bit Cinnamon she quickly moved away to the top floor. While chaos was going on the zipties started to become loose. It was now 1am and the chaos got even worse and the structure started wobbling. Oreo and the Baby Sows were hidden a Pigloo with 2 entrances. Meanwhile she said her mom was very sad as they heard Baby Taco squeal as if he was in pain.

Cinnamon was on the 2nd floor bleeding and eating a bit of hay. Anyway she said that a few minutes later the bottom grids that held the cage high started twisting and then she heard one last squeak and 2 mins later the top floor collapsed and then whole structure collapsed. After that they rushed home! They got their at 4am and all the grids were just a huge pile. They quickly started digging through it and they saw Baby Taco who was stiff and also Cinnamon who was covered in blood from the bite. Taco died a few days later from injuries and only Oreo and the Baby Sows survived luckily the pigloo kept them safe. Anyway the reason the cage fell apart wasn't due to the fighting but to the zipties. She never tied them right I am sending a letter of Condolence this Tuesday but it probably won't make it over their till October. Also I assume this happened a few weeks ago as are letters aren't always updated enough. I just wanted to know if this was possible so I don't sound dumb in my letter

Having two boars, and Baby Taco being in his teenage phase, the fighting bit - yes. Two boars in a herd almost certain to end in disaster. As far as the cage falling down. I don't see how a three storey cage could have stood at all if the zip-ties weren't done properly, although I suppose it is possible, and the commotion loosening them, well yes, I suppose. I think you just have to decide if you believe the story. If it is accurate, it is a dreadful thing to happen.

I guess it is possible but having a cage 5x9 and 3 stories high would be very difficult to build and almost impossible to clean.

My C&C is 3 grids high but only 2 grids wide. There is no way I could reach in to clean a cage 3 grids wide at that height and I'm quite tall.

I always recommend using cable ties to secure a cage. Use lots of them.

After I built my cage I tripped over and fell into the side. It knocked most of the connectors out and some of the grids slipped but it didn't collapse. The cable ties held it in place.

Although it doesn't sound likely you can only go by what she says

I would have thought 5x9 grids, 3 storeys high, impossible!

If your cousin has web cams and was able to witness this, then clearly they have Internet. As they clearly have Internet access why is it that you communicate through good old fashioned mail?

When she was in Primary School the teacher told them to have have Pen Pals from different countries so they could practice a different language and learn the countries culture so she chose America the country I'm in. So we have been writing since also they only have 2 devices in the house a Smartphone for Calling and Other Stuff only used by Mom and Dad and a Very Old Computer which is slow due to it's age. I am going to ask her if it's real or if it was just a story because this is confusing me.
