Donating Their Hair

Shouldve thought of this a few days considering Ive cut most of the girls long hair now (due to heat), but I could have donated it? I'm looking it up now and seeing things like animal and human hair being used to clean up oil spills. Wondered if anyone on here has done it
 
Don't know how you would do that as that website is USA based. Not heard of anything like this in the UK
 
Ive seen it mention they had hair donated from forty other countries? I may be wrong though as I skimmed through it, I'll have to look again
 
That is a lovely idea.
I put Willow's hair on the garden yesterday after I trimed him. The blackbirds flew off with it, they must be about to have another brood and are relining their nest. They have already introduced the garden to two babies this year.

This is a great thread, maybe we could put it somewhere easier to find so anyone interested in donating can do so through your link. I think a lot of people would be interested in this. It's a brill idea!
 
Oh this is a great post I'm glad I came across this :)

I cut my long hair into a bob just before Christmas and donated that to the Princess Trust (they make real hair wigs for children getting chemo)

I must keep this in mind for my piggies and any hair cuts I get too :)

What a lovely thing to do. :nod::)) Donating your lovely tresses for children going through the trauma of chemo. Well done you!:clap:

Well done you ! It's such a great empowering feeling isn't it ?:gp:

I just put mine into a poney tail and chopped it off myself but then I always cut and dye my own hair - I'm a bit of a amateur hairdresser haha
