don't believe this - now maisie has a problem

i noticed that one of her eyes was half closed and streaming a bit. i checked her over and bathed the eye and a piece of hay was sticking into it. we managed to gently pull it out and immediately she could open her eye properly although the inside corner is still a tiny bit pink. i bathed it again and it looks much better.

we're at the vets monday with chesney and his weight loss so we will have maisie's eye checked over aswell.

i can't believe what's happening lately! everything at once.

the hay can't have been in her eye long as i keep checking them regularly because of chesney.

i just want to cry at the minute. 8...
 
A hay poke will be sorted quickly - don't worry about it I know easier said than done!

I hope both pigs do well at the vets! x

thank you. i just feel like such a rubbish owner lately. everything seems to happen at once doesn't it.

i'll bathe her eye again later when i weigh chesney. she was such a good girl when we were getting the hay out for her and she loved her cuddles after bless her. x)

one of those days today. 8...
 
I know they days, piggy illnesses always come at once. I'm sure mine have meetings about who's up next and what illness! x
 
It's the same with me, I had 3 sick pigs in the space of 8 months. :( Just be thankful it isn't life threatening I suppose <3 hope her little pink eye goes away quickly x
 
thanks. i've already got two bunnies with lifelong respiratory problems who take alot of looking after. 8...

good news is maisies eye looks pretty much normal now. but i'll get the vet to have a look when we go on monday just to be sure. maisie is fine in herself aswell, being a nutter actually! x)
 
i bathed maisie's eye again last night and today i can't tell which eye was bad so that's good news :)

she has also had a good brush and skirt trim to look presentable for the vets tomorrow! :)) i'll get them to check her eye to make sure she's ok and she can have a check up whilst we are there. :)
 
maisie had her eye checked at the vets today. he put dye into it and checked it thoroughly and it's completely fine. :)
