Hello,

Recently we ran out of our hay and had to buy a bag from Morrisons, the hays not the worst but there are loads of these dried flowery things which I can't identify and not sure if they are safe for my pigs.

My family think they are dandelions in which case it would be fine but I'd just like to double check. If anyone has come across these and know what they are please could you let me know?

Thanks

@Beccakatee It looks like dandelion to me too. Alot of meadow type hay have them in. They're okay to be eaten by most pigs but if you're unsure you can pick them out.

If you google dried dandelion, that seems to be how dried dandelion looks, just minus the flower.

If not dandelions, which they very well could be, the only other thing similar looking I could think of would be cornflowers, which are also piggy safe and commonly found in wildflower meadows so could have ended up in hay.

Thank you all for the replies. The pigs seem to want to eat them so I guess they know that they're not poisonous 😁 I will leave them in from now on.
