Does anyone know if guinea pigs can eat dried rose petals / buds? I was feeding my chinchillas tonight and Merlin was in the lounge with me and was sniffing the air when he smelt the tub open so wondered if piggies can eat them? Can't see why they couldn't as both chinchillas and degus can but best to check :)

Ive had a forage mix with them in once, leaf and petal.. the guineas really weren't fussed. had a go at the leaf but kinda got bored. As best I know there isnt anything toxic.. best get some more concensus!

Mine bar two not touch dried dandelions so they might not touch the roses but thought best to ask :)

aaah. my guys totally love dandelions in any shape or moisture level! haha.. thats probably why they disappointed to find naff pot pourri in their forage mix! haha. The forage mix is a woodland company I think.. sold at pets at home.. comes in a celophane bag with a green card label.

I'm sure I read somewhere that they are ok. I've never tried them with mine though. :)

Bella goes mad for them, I buy a forage snack bar thing made up of rose petals and dried flowers. She can eat a whole bar to herself in a few hours. Others are not so sure but they will have a little nibble.

I have brought the woodland stuff in the past for the chinchillas they wasn't overly keen so i now buy dried flowers and leaves seperate for them. Well offered a bit to Merlin he wasn't that keen :))

Mine love dried herbs! I always have to have a bag, otherwise they always look so disappointed... :))
