You need to have your piggy checked by a vet. nasal discharge could be because something has irritated the nose or it could be possible infection. We can’t tell from a picture or diagnose anything, so it will require a hands on check by a vet.
Hi! Please have your piggy vet checked for cheilitis (lip infection). Treatment depends on what kind of bug has got into the lips through tiny cracks in the skin. It is often caused by overfeeding fruit and tomato (too much and/or too often); the acidity in them can cause the cracks.
Please stop feeding any fruit and tomatoes for the trest of their lives in guinea pigs with cheilitis as there seems to be also a disposition in play - some piggies seem to be much more sensitive than other.
Has the vet diagnosed cheilitis? If you have received a proper diagnosis from the vet, then the vet will have given you medication to give to your piggy to make him better.
If you haven’t been to the vet, then you can’t know it is cheilitis. You must take your piggy to the vet if you suspect cheilitis as it can be a nasty illness and requires treatment. There is nothing you can do at home to make it better, he will need veterinary prescribed medication.
Ensure you don’t feed acidic fruits as that can cause cheilitis.
