Hey all,

I've just been trimming my guinea's nails down and have noticed that rodger has really dry flaky skin on his back right paw - i've put slight pressure on it with my fingers and it doesn't seem to be hurting him. I've checked his cage mate squeaky over and hes absolutely fine - any ideas?

Not sure if it could be something fungal or a urine burn?

Try rubbing vaseline or sudocreaminto it twice a day.

i've managed to get some pics of it after abit of bribery with carrot tops and parsley lol

Will upload them to photobucket now.

Ok this is what his paw looks like:

And how very unimpressed he is with me playing with his tootsie

That looks to be fungal to me - vet trip to be sure. Check inside the ears too as they use their back feet to groom and inside the ears is a favourite place for fungal to brew.

I was wondering if that would be the case - would his cage mate need treatment too?

I've checked inside his ears already and they seem clear for the time being

Won't get a vets appointment till tomorrow now so will keep an eye on him and get him in the morning.
