Has anyone's piggies ever developed dry skin after invermetcin treatment? All 4 piggies are currently undergoing treatment for static lice, only marshmallow had them and it was after she was run down with sudden weight loss and slow guts but I got all 4 treated as a precaution (we have seen a vet for this) this afternoon during applying the second dose and hair trims/nail clips/ health checks I discovered fluffy has some dry skin on her back near her bum which looks dandruffy and marshmallows ears look really dry, I'm wondering if it could be a reaction to the invermetcin considering it wasn't there before and how I can help them? Princess and nugget appear unaffected it's one pig from each pair 🤔

I would go back and see the vet again, its important to rule out fungal and bacterial skin infections as well as mites before concluding a piggy just has dry flaky skin. Ivermectin shouldnt cause dry skin, as its just a spot on and gets absorbed into the body and if anything should only briefly affect the skin on the back and the neck where you apply it x

OK thankyou, I'm going to order some gorgeous guineaa stuff also incase it is just dry skin there's no red angryness or fur loss xx I'm at the vets with babybelle Tuesday so will see about the pigs too!
