well today was D day for them both, they've lived next to each other for a week so today we have set up their bonding pen in the lounge. All seems good so far, a few rumbles and teeth chattering plus nose offs but all is calm in the household, not sure if dominance has been agreed yet so will keep you posted. Anyway here is them in the bonding pen:

And here is one of their newly refurbished home once they have sorted out their differences, complete with 2nd floor:

How will I know when to put them in their proper cage? Is it best to keep it bare for a start and gradually add cosies and tunnels? X

Good luck with the bonding. It took me a week to bond Vivienne with Sabeen whilst dominace was being established. Much teeth chattering and chasing. they are now the best of buddes!

Omg that was the most nerve racking sleep ever, it was so hard too go to bed and leave them to it. I had the lounge and bedroom door open so I could see and hear anything. I had one moment when I thought I heard noise so had to investigate but nothing to report. I eventually fell asleep after much fretting and debate about whether i should sleep in the lounge just incase. I have just checked on them and all appears OK so they are now munching on hay for being good boys...although they are not cuddling, just laying at each endcof the pen.

Thanks for all the support but I'm still unsure of when they should e put in their new house? Howxwill I know when dominance has been agreed? X

Lovely piggies, glad everything seems to be going well.

well i decided to move them to their proper cage this afternoon since they seemed to be sleeping at opposite ends of the bonding pen. They have both explored their new pad, still a bit of teeth chattering etc when they get near each others bums. Am gutted they haven't called a full truce yet though and started napping together. they've been taking turns going to the upper deck as that seems to be the main tense area but I will persevere. I've got 2 new cosies arriving tomorrow so hopefully when I put these in they might start to lay near each other.
For now here are some more pigtures.

If anyone has any suggestions etc please feel free to comment and i will update you again tomorrow

Ive got two pairs of boars and they are the complete opposites in terms of exactly how 'close' they are. Shadow and Elvis (un-related boars that are now just over 2yrs old and have been together since they were 4 and 5wks old) are extremely close and where ever one is you'll always find the other :p However my father and son paring are completely different and you will often find them on opposite ends of the cage - ive never seen them 'cuddle' or 'sleep' together - but they do get along (as best as boars can) and without too many problems...

I wouldn't expect too much, your boys may never get to the 'cuddling' stage and the best you can hope for is that they live together without too many hiccups.... If they form a strong bond/friendship and decide they want to be together all the time, then that is a rare plus, but don't be too alarmed that they don't sleep together - some boars don't! It doesn't mean they are not friends though....

Pigs are like people, you have very special friends that you could spend every waking moment with, then you have friends that are ok in small doses!

Good luck with the bonding :)
