Hi I'm just wondering if ear mites in cats could transfer to guinea pigs? On googling I get mixed answers, some places say yes theyre very contagious and can spread to gpigs, but guinealynx only mentions rabbit ear mites in reference to gpigs.

Ear mites aren't species specific so it is possible they could spread from your cat to your piggies if living in the same environment. Guinea lynx might only mention them in reference to rabbits because some people sadly house rabbits and guinea pigs together (which they shouldn't be for a number of reasons) and ear mites spread very quickly through direct contact.
