Our guinea pig has never been particularly happy with touching his ears but tonight he seems even more fussy becoming really agitated and flicking them about a lot when trying to touch them
I’ve tried to look inside the best I can and they don’t look red or inflamed etc
I’m thinking a vet trip is needed just to make sure he’s okay but wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this for some guidance?

Thought I should add he seems himself otherwise and is eating and drinking okay etc but just not wanting anybody to touch him anywhere near his ears

Hi

I agree with @Piggies&buns. Please have him checked.

It is most likely a build up of wax, dirt or rabbit ear mites or an outer ear infection, or a mix of them but it is obviously rather irritating and/or painful.
