Hello me again, I have uploaded pics of my girls ears as I have two concerns & would really appreciate advice please. I have searched the forum but posts haven’t really answered my questions so needed to post. Fist concern is the chewed/bits missing on their ears. As far as I’m aware they get in very well & love each other. They are both sisters I got at 6/8 weeks old. Should I be concerned about the bits missing on their ears as I’d hate the thought of this being a bullying issue. Princess with the white face has hers nibbled/bitten more. The second concern is the skin that’s bald behind their ears. Is this normal in this area or is it a sign of something? Thank you again for reading. They are my first pigs so I’m learning

All piggies have a bald patch behind each ear. That is normal
Guinea pig body quirks - What is normal and what not?

Damage to the ears would suggest there had been some nipping going on. Whether there is an issue in their relationship would require further information but it would be best to post this question in the bonding and behaviour section rather than the health section

Hello, ok that’s great to know the bald patches are normal, thank you. I will post in bonding/behaviour section & see what people think. They have a big room all to themselves with lots of hiding places, chew toys a bowl each etc. We have a cat so the door is closed with a curtain on it. I think I may need to move them into the kitchen to watch them closely. As far as I know they are very sweet together but have their little moments but never seen them fight & they snuggle & follow each other. Hopefully it’s ok. I’m sure their ears were nibbled when we got them from pet shop but can’t be sure & I’d say definitely more so now

If they were nibbled ears when you got them, then it's likely it's an old injury. Maybe from before they even got to the pet shop and were in a different group.

My boar has scarred ears too. He's fine now. Just think he had a rough start in life 😞.

Have you noticed blood on their ears from being nibbled? If not, it could be from when they were in the pet shop or prior to that, as you said. A couple of mine have slightly ragged ears but they‘ve been like that since I got them from the rescue.
