After I did a vet check, and before I went to a check, he just ate less hay than usual. The vet said he acts totally fine, except for a little clear discharge. But I don’t think he had it right now. Is it an issue I should worry?

It’s not very easy to tell whether piggies are eating enough hay by sight. The only way to be sure in that respect is to weigh your piggy regularly (weekly). Do you do this? Have you seen any problems with the weight?

Does he eat his veggies and pellets ok?

Nasal discharge needs to be checked out properly as it can be a sign of a uri. Is your vet cavy savvy? If there is a genuine reluctance to eat, then having all the teeth checked is important.

If all medical issues can be ruled out by a cavy savvy vet and your piggy still doesn’t seem to eat much hay (but their weight is good and they are actually eating enough), then mixing up the type of hay they are given can help spark their interest in hay.
