I'd like to decorate my piggies cages for christmas. Does anyone know what I could use to make edible tinsel? I know if I use normal tinsel my piggies will find a way to reach it and eat the lot. Is rice paper safe to use?

you could make cabbage tinsel if you roll it up and slice it :(|)

Erm... i dont know what paper they are safe to eat. I would use newspaper, not sure how festive it would look though! :))I cant wait to decorate the piggies room. There will LOADS of photos posted by me this christmas.

I'm not sure I'd like the look of it after 12 days :))

My piggies do eat newspaper if I don't move it out of the way quick enough and it doesn't seem to have done them any harm. I could dye it with vegetable dye to make it more festive and the piggies could "cut" (eat is probably more accurate) shapes out of it

I'm also already thinking about christmas decorations for the piggy cage :)

I think most paper, including newspaper, is safe, just don't get stuff with foil or plastic. It's not like they will eat piles of it...

I'm decoration tunnels as candy canes!

As for popcorn it would probably be ok (at least not dangerous), but they are cooked in oil aren't they? I don't think that's great...

A while ago i brought guinea pig pop corn, i brought it from pets at home. It comes in a pack of 3/4 they are brown/black and look like corn on the cobs, you put them in the microwave then they turn into popcorn.

The boys seemed to enjoy it and it's specially for them.
