Julesie
Senior Guinea Pig
Ever since I got Eevee she's always enjoyed chirping. She's never distressed at the time. I've caught her doing it randomly. The other pig in her cage isn't bothered at all and is usually just eating hay. I have NO idea why she does it or why so often.
She's been doing it for 6minutes now as I type this and it's sitll going on. She also did it earlier which is the video below and just before that too.
I have no idea what it means but I can assure she's not distressed.
It's all very odd but she seems to have times where she enjoys chirping. It comes in bursts. She'll do it for a few times a day/couple of days then not do it for a few months then back to doing it for a day/couple of days.
I was downstairs when I recorded the video so you can tell how loud the sound is. It gets louder the more I sneak up the stairs (I was trying to catch her unaware but she heard me as I got to the top step) -you might want to turn volume up as I'm not sure how loud it is for everyone.
When I turn the light on she's happily sitting there. She has been a bit of a bully lately to my other guinea pig (food guarding) so is it possibly a bullying thing? A sign of dominance?
I know its probably something no one knows but its so interesting...
