Eli Not Doing Good

Eli stopped eating and drinking water again yesterday and our vet was out of town til this morning and he is seeing her in 30 mins.

We called the emergency vet 24 hour clinic in the city who covers for our vet and they do not treat guinea pigs.

Called out vet and told her this morning and she said get him up here now.

He is lethargic and cold to the touch even though he is alive. He does not lift his head up out of his bedding at all.

I am worried.

Hi! Please warm a snugglesafe for about half the time in the microwave or place him on a warm, but not hot water bottle.

Syringe feed little but often, as long as he will take it; if struggles to swallow or struggles way over his weakened state to avoid eating, then you have to sadly call it a day. I am very sorry that you haven't got out-of-hours vet care for small animals where you are. :(

Ty and he is with our vet right now. She is doing blood work and will call us in a few hours.
 
We are still waiting for the cal from the vet to let us know how he is and what is going on. It has been three hours and we called but they were out to lunch so they are supposed to call us back as soon as they get in.
I am worried.

PS: I have your merged your threads as they deal with the same ongoing issue. We prefer to keep things together if possible as unlike other social media, we can put threads on watch and it prevents people from giving advice on two threads at the same time without full information.
 
I hope the little fella will be ok. I will have my fingers crossed too.

Ty and I am not sure where to put the update.
 
Update on Eli and I hope this is where I am supposed to put this.
Four days ago we switched from the store we usually buy veggies from to the local farmers mart. Their veggies are not fresh which we did not know and Eli has ecoli. He is home and is heavily sedated and is on orbax.
 
Oh no that's terrible, poor Eli. How disgusting to be selling veggies in that condition. I hope the little guy is feeling better soon.
