He started this at 2am after he'd been fighting with Ollie most of the day, so it definitely wasn't a nice sound. It felt like my ears were being ripped off and it even woke my parents in the next room. I decided to seperate them but couldn't find the spare connecters, after about half an hour of searching I had to use some bullclips instead. Even then they were biting bars so I slipped a piece of coroplast between them. Ollie settled down (it was him being dominated) but Elliot tried a new tack and started biting the coroplast of the cage door ... endlessly. He woke me up over and over again and even when I was asleep I was dreaming about him biting coroplast.

I have therapy at 10am but I can't think about anything but the sound of coroplast. I'm stressed, can you tell?

I have a persistant bar chewer, I know how you feel! I'm sorry the boys aren't getting along, I do hope they give you some peace sometime soon x

Naughty piggies, you poor thing.

One of mine chews the bars, does anyone know why they do it? I read somewhere it could be boredom but they have loads of toys, go in an indoor run for a few hours a day and have cuddles every night :{ none of the others do it.

mine chew the bars when they want food, or me to open the door to their hutch. geoffrey once chewed the bars under his waterbottle when my mum went out there, it turned out that the bottle was empty, so my mum put water in it and he stopped and drank!

he may be chewing the bars to get attention, or because he wants to see his 'friend' rolleyes
xx

Because I was on my mobile when I replied, I never saw this video!

If only we had a clue what chirping means!

Oh my goodness, what a noisy piggy. I have heard my piggy Harry do this and its startling. Thought a canary had flown in through an open window.

Sparky is a terrible bar chewer but luckily I was able to solve it, take the wire mess of his cage off and place the base on a stand.

It's such an strange sound! Willow is a chirper when the mood takes her. Once it was possible distress (she did NOT want to come out of the hutch) once in the middle of an otherwise quiet night and once out of the blue for no reason at all.

I just wish I knew what she was trying to tell me!

Hope your boys allow you a quiet night tonight :)

wow does he think he is a bird! never heard a guinea like ***! sounds like one of those rape alarm things!

Compared to the chirping I have heard before this noise seems to have much more urgency and distress. I wonder if it's instinct and he's calling for back up so to speak.

Oh WOW.....Elliot sure is making himself heard isn't he ?/

I do hope it's all settled down now :)

(p.s. Elliot and Ollie DO NOT STRESS OUT MUMMY ok? right! good little ones xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx )
