Hi All,

Mentioned on the photo gallery. Esme has a lump at the top of her head. It is 2pence size, isn't hurting or troubling her and just wondered what the best course of action would be? Of course vet identification is best I think. But if they take a section of it does she have to be sedated?

Long shot, but does anyone know what they usually are in this location, or can it be anything from cyst to the dreaded C word? I really hope it isn't Cancer shes is a lovely girl but I am worried about her being so tame. I know thats a good thing but she could be masking illness.

Her weight is healthy and she is eating dried and hay (she hasn't had much veg in her life sadly so trying to get her onto some daily)

A picture of the little lady she has a spot of fungal at the mo, using galens garden cream I did this for Sunshine and it cleared up but that was on his ear. Can anything else be used?

Thanks

Louise

One of my sows had a lump on her back. I would not allow them to sedate her for the biopsy, just in case> It turned out to be a cyst and they drained it there and then. The lump felt very hard so i was surprised it was a cyst and not something else. Get her to the vets when you can and you may find it is just a big spot. My piggy developed another cyst elsewhere on her body but that one popped itself.

Thanks! Yes it is very hard oh will be taking her and her 2 sisters for a check over. :) I'm sure the location of it does mean a cyst so I'm trying to think positive. She is fast becoming one of Peter's favourites although she currently looks ike she has been drinking cream as she has white on her nose with the cream haha!

She is gorgeous! A cyst is the most likely cause of a little lump on the head, Louise. An abscess is possible, but a tumour is very unlikely.

Thanks Laura. I will make an appointment for in the week to take her up the vets. fingers crossed for her she is a pretty princess! :)

The fungal on her nose can be cleared up with tea tree cream or something like Daktarin... worked on mine (but they hate having it put on!).

Hope the lump is nothing sinister, she's a lovely lady!

Thanks Sophie will get some tomorrow looks better today though. :)

Glad it's getting better - you have to kind of scratch it off a bit, with a finger nail, then apply the cream... should go quite quickly. A few of mine have it, but others in the same group don't - I'm not sure why some get it and some don't

Yeah I did wonder why some get it and others don't. They had a bath before they came here and noticed nothing on the day they arrived. Didn't see them much on Friday as they were in a chicken arc and kept hiding up so its obviously something that came on them. Bupu has it mildly too but Goldmoon doesn't.

None of mine have ever had it, except Sunshine who had it on his ear after a bite from Mr Twinks. rolleyes
