So I have an oil diffuser next to my bed to help me sleep at night. I use “balance blend” to relax and calm down. I don’t use it every night although I’d love to. My piggies are on the other side of the room and my bedroom door is wide open and when the weather allows my window is open as well. I know that piggies can be sensitive to things like this but I’m just wondering if anyone knows how bad it is? It helps me sleep very much but I don’t want to harm my guinea pigs. Are their blends that may harm them less? Ultimately I care about them more than my sleep, but if I can find a way to not harm them and still use it at night I’d prefer that. The most seems to go more towards me than toward sthe other side of my room where they are as well. Do some oils even help piggies? I’m clueless. Just don’t want to harm them, especially because they are older.

Good question.

My advice would be not have the oils in the same room. They have very sensitive noses, their hearing and nose make up for their inadequate sight to be honest. It would concern me to have something like that near them natural or not.

I agree that I wouldn’t use anything like that near them either. When my piggies moved indoors, my husband said it was on the promise that they would have an air freshener in their room. I tried this but it made he piggies sneeze so so temoved the air freshener and they no longer sneeze

I wonder if you could dab the oil on your pulse points instead of using a diffuser, so that you get the benefit but it does not interfere with your piggies breathing. If it’s a dottera brand it should be safe to put on your skin but check the labelling!

Thanks! :) And mine don’t sneeze or anything they act perfectly fine, same as before the diffuser. Like I said I’ve rarely used the diffuser and not for more than 5 mins at a time.
