I have two pigs, I've bought a playpen for them so they're getting out of the cage. However, they don't run round it or anything, they just have an explore and a nibble then a cuddle. What can I do? They're not scared, they make their usual noises!

Give them time to feel safe in it. When they’re used to it I’m sure they will be more active.
Are there any tunnels or hideys in the playpen?

yep, there's a hidey, they race for it when I put them in, then slowly slowly stick their noses out and then have a mooch around when they're a bit more comfortable. But no running and they don't like any toys I've given them :(

if they are adults, that is about all you get out of them. Try to lure them across the run by coming to you for a little treat, like tiny pieces of their favourite veg. Change your position so they have to move.

I’ve given them a tunnel - they’re very excited about it!

Here are more ideas on enrichment - things they can burrow in or rip apart are always firm favourites, like playing around in a heap of their soiled bedding, hay filled paper bags (any handles cut and only soft hay, please) etc.

Oh and I’ve put Betty in their washing bag and she’s loving snuffling around. Yuck!

putting them in their pen leads to them hiding. Putting them on the floor leads to them racing round the room and popcorning. I guess the pen was a waste of money!
