I have recently purchased F10SC Veterinary Disinfectant and as I was reading all the warnings on the instructions, I started to wonder if I should really be using this around my pigs. I did some research and most people say that once diluted properly it works nicely and is safe for the animals. I just wanted to ask if anyone had used F10 before and what were their experiences with it. Thanks!

I know a lot of forum members use F10 . I'm sure you'll get a lot of answers throughout the day.

I use it. Follow the instructions on the bottle and it works fine and safe.

We recommend to use F10 especially when you have got fungal issues, as it is the only disinfectant that kills ringworm spores. If you have got the concentrate, then you need to apply it at the recommended dilution rate.

However, I do not use it with every cage clean (for that a mild disinfectant is perfectly fine), but for the occasional thorough deep clean; I have only got guinea pigs. I want to strike a balance between enabling your guinea pigs to develop and maintain a healthy immune system but prevent the real baddies getting at them.

I use F10 in my exotics ward for a daily and routine disinfection of tables, kennels and floors etc. Quite a few exotic vets actually recommend it as do I. It's actually recommended even more so with avian species who are even more delicate with their airways and immune system than piggies. It's even used regularly for nebulizing patients, birds, mammals and reptiles all have this.

Follow the right dilution and there is no reason not to use it.

On a side note I use a veterinary medicine grade disinfectant for all my regular cleaning within my house as I have quite few pets.
