hi does anyone use fake grass> i have my indoor cage and was thinking of doing the downstairs fake grass with allt heir toys evt then upstairs fleece for their bedding areas> I'm struggling to keep hay from sticking to the fleece!

I've used artificial grass for my indoor bunny/tortoise who share the same area. It soon got weed and poo'd on and a nice slushy mess was made beneath. If you put pads beneath and scrub it regularly it would be ok or maybe use it to line a shelf in the enclosure

I use it for part of my rabbits outdoor run, and it works a treat with them, but when I put an off cut in the piggy enclosure they tried to eat it and then peed all over it. It was a total mess in a couple of hours, so I would avoid it with guinea pigs for sure.

I found that having a massive litter tray (32 litre under bed storage box) at one end of the cage full of hemp bedding and hay hay and more hay was the best thing in the world for containing wee and hay. The fleecy area is mainly used for chillin' and pooin'.

Piggiepigpigs on youtube has some great cage layouts.

I'd be more worried about piggies attempting to consume the fake grass x
I'd be worried about this too, my Patchy would definetly try it as she's a terror for wanting to eat everything in sight...except expensive chew toys I buy for her to safely chew, those she just ignores lol.

Several people above have advised against using artificial grass - because their Guinea Pigs have tried to eat it .

This is a good link ..
