I would not really class this as health and illness but closest place I could think of.

I am sat in the room where my guinea pigs are doing some work before I go to bed and all I hear is this sound almost like someone dragging their nails across a carpet, or a "ripply fart".

I have a guinea pig who has been suffering with gut stasis for a couple weeks with no proper recovery (up and down) and he is on all sorts of medication, two gut stimulants and critical care alongside fibreplex. Could he have done a massive fart? He has been stuffed up all day (not pooping). It was dark so I could not see what was going on but it sounded awfully suspicious.

Its not really a cause for concern as they seem fine, but I know generally guinea pig farts are quiet if they do happen (I have a nervous tooter who lets a couple go every nail trimming :)) )
I'm just curious really, haha.

Hi

Guinea pigs can do really loud full-on farts, including with the attendant smell. Thankfully, usually not very often but they can be impressive.
