Just wondering if you guys could give me some safe and healthy treats for my girls.

So far I give them carrot, cucumber, brocolli (which they love nuzzling in to) and raw corn of the cob?

I wasn't too sure about giving them anything too juicy or acidic like apple or tomato, but I've seen some pictures around here that beg to differ.

Any ideas?

we give ours a little bit of apple, they love the core for some reason!

and it sounds disgusting but, although banana is bad for guinea pigs in the main, they love a tiny little bit of banana skin {:|

also, do you give them the type of sweetcorn that still has the leaved around it? My Lucky loves the stringy things inside it, and then she gets the advantage of the sweetcorn inside too. keeps her busy as well, tearing it all apart!

Green beans, corn on the cob (Lucky, the stringy things are called silks apparently, I didn't know 'til last week when Niki posted), Apple is good, but not too much, grapes but not too much mine have half each once a week (mean or what?) Banana is ok, a slice about half centimetre, so again not much and not very often. Cut grass, apple tree twigs, mine love apple cores, they fight over the pips and stalk. xx

As well as what has already been mentioned, mine also like peppers (all varieties) all lettuces (not too much and not iceberg) Melon (all varieties excluding water melon as this isn't so good for them) tomatoes and cucumber x

Awesome! I can't wait to try out these new foods on them!

Thanks again everyone for all your help!

Do not introduce more than one new food at the time, to prevent upset tummies. If they don't like it, leave it in the cage for a day and try again a week or two later. Basically, treat them like you would your children in terms of new food!
